A growing manufacturing organization in the Sarasota area is hiring a Senior Accountant to support its finance team. You’ll handle the books for several related business units and play a hands-on role in upcoming finance technology initiatives, including consolidating ERP platforms and rolling out accounting automation tools. There’s a clear path to move into a larger leadership role over time.
Responsibilities
- Run the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for more than one business unit
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Manage transactions between related entities and resolve any differences
- Review financial results and explain changes in the balance sheet and income statement
- Track capital spending and fixed assets
- Provide schedules and support for audits
- Contribute to system upgrades and process improvement projects
- Help bring newly acquired companies onto company accounting standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience (strong candidates with 5+ will stand out)
- Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Proven experience with close, reconciliations, and audit support
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup functions
- Background working across multiple entities or accounting systems
