Apply or send your resume
Apply to a posted job, or join the talent network if nothing fits yet. It takes a couple of minutes.
- 02
Phone call with a recruiter
If your background fits, we call to talk through your goals, pay, schedule, and deal breakers.
- 03
Teams interview
When we have a role to submit you to, we meet on Teams first. We never submit anyone we have not met.
- 04
Meet the company
We have already been to their office and met the manager, so we prep you on the environment, the team, and the management style before you walk in.

Get the offer right
We handle the back and forth on pay and start date, and stay in touch after you start.
Contract, contract-to-hire, or direct hire?
All three are real jobs with real teams. The difference is who pays you and for how long.
| Contract | Contract-to-hire | Direct hire | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | A set project or stretch of time, like a system rollout or a leave of absence. | Starts as contract, with the plan to join the company once it fits for both sides. | A permanent job on the company’s payroll from day one. |
| Who pays you | AVG, hourly, for every hour you work. | AVG at first, then the company after you convert. | The company, at the salary in your offer. |
| How long | Usually weeks to months. Extensions are common. | Often a few months before conversion. | Open-ended. |
| Good for | Variety, between-jobs income, building experience fast. | Trying a team before you commit. | Stability, benefits, and long-term growth. |
On contract, we walk you through pay schedule, timesheets, and benefits eligibility before your first day.
Your current employer won’t hear it from us.
- Your resume never goes to a company without a conversation with you first.
- Tell us any companies to stay away from, including your current one.
- We share client names in that first call, never in a mass email.
Does it cost anything to work with AVG?
No. Our clients cover our fees, so there is never a cost to you.
Will my current employer find out?
No. Your search stays confidential. We never send your resume to a company without talking to you first, and you can tell us any companies to stay away from.
What happens after I apply?
Our recruiters review applications for each role. If your background is a fit, we start with a phone call. When we have a role to submit you to, we meet on Teams first. We never submit anyone we have not met.
What is the difference between contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire?
Contract means you work a set project or stretch of time and get paid hourly through AVG. Contract-to-hire starts the same way, with the plan to move you onto the company’s payroll once it is a fit for both sides. Direct hire means you join the company’s payroll on day one. See the full breakdown.
I am employed and not really looking. Can I still talk to you?
Yes. Plenty of good moves start that way. Tell us what it would take for you to move, and we will only reach out when a role clears that bar.
What if I do not see the right role?
Submit your resume to our talent network and we will keep you in mind as new roles open up. A lot of our searches are never posted publicly.
